In this video, KPA faculty member Terry Ryan presents the Turkey Game, a delightful shaping exercise that adds a playful twist. The objective is simple: in just 15 seconds, students aim to teach their dogs to lie down in a “roasting pan.” The training process reinforces the dogs’ behavior in incremental steps—first for placing their feet in the pan, then for sitting in the pan, and, ultimately, for lying down in the pan.

While the pan may resemble a roasting pan, rest assured that no dogs (or humans) are roasted during this exercise. It's all about pure, positive reinforcement fun! Watch the video to see how this game can bring joy and skill-building to your training classes.
