teach your puppy to walk on a leash
In this video by KPA CTP Claudia Bryce, a puppy is learning to walk on a loose leash indoors, where there are fewer distractions. Cones are set up every two feet to remind the handler to reward the puppy frequently. Each time they approach a cone with the puppy in the desired position, the handler clicks and feeds the puppy a treat. When the puppy is successful routinely, the cones can be placed further apart. Once the puppy learns that walking on a loose leash is more reinforcing than exploring, practice can move outdoors.
