set up a safe training session outdoors
A combination of management tools and higher-level reinforcers help keep your dog focused and safe until you are confident that your dog has developed a reliable cue response. In this video, KPA CTP Shannon Kenny is using a combination of management tools and training equipment while she works on stationing and recall behaviors with her dog. She uses a Klimb Platform as her dog’s “go to place” station and a long lead to keep her dog focused and safe while they work on recall. And, of course, Shannon is well-prepared to quickly reward the desired behavior, with a treat pouch containing lots of high-value treats!
