Socialization is an ongoing process that occurs both at home and during training trips. One effective way to provide positive exposure experiences for puppies at home is to introduce novel items into their daily routines. These objects should be unique but not so unfamiliar that they frighten the puppy and deter the puppy from interacting with the objects.

In this video presented by KPA CTP Amber Quann, novel objects are incorporated into a puppy's mealtime routine. By associating these objects with food, the puppy is learning that novel items can be enjoyable and rewarding. Try incorporating new and diverse experiences into your puppy's daily routine. Be sure to introduce one object at a time and observe your puppy's reactions closely to ensure their comfort and safety.
