Ken ramirez receives abma lifetime achievement award
How many lifetime achievement awards in the training field can one person win? At least three! Congratulations to our very own Ken Ramirez for receiving the John M. Kirtland, Jr. Lifetime Achievement Award from the Animal Behavior Management Alliance (ABMA). This award is granted only when there is a qualified nominee and honors individuals who have made significant achievements in the field of behavior management by setting new standards for animal welfare.
Recipients of the John M. Kirtland, Jr. Lifetime Achievement Award demonstrate their commitment to improving animal welfare, educating peers, and providing mentorship and support. Kelly Elkins, past president of the ABMA, presented the award to Ken on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, stating, “I would say that everyone who knows you, Ken, agrees without question! From your work with elephants and dolphins to dogs, you truly deserve this award. You have created our training bible and are our training guru. You ensure that we continually learn, grow, and have opportunities to improve. You inspire us and set the bar for where we aim to progress. So, I am pleased to present you with the Lifetime Achievement Award.”
You ensure that we continually learn, grow, and have opportunities to improve.
This is the third Lifetime Achievement Award that Ken has received. He was previously honored by the International Marine Animal Trainers Association (IMATA) and in 2021 by the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT).
