CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 2024 ZOE SHELTER SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS
For more than a decade, the annual scholarship program has been made possible by Dr. Lisa White and her husband Brody in remembrance of their dog Zoe and in honor of the ASPCA’s Adopt-A-Shelter-Dog-Month. The program is designed to assist shelters as they implement training and enrichment programs that both enrich the lives of the animals in their care and help the animals find their forever homes. This year, four scholarship recipients were selected from more than 120 applications representing shelters and rescue organizations throughout the U.S. and beyond.
The 2024 Zoe Shelter Scholarship recipients are:
- Diane Bassett, O Cantinho Da Milu - Setúbal, Portugal
- Abigail Fisher, Arnell Memorial Humane Society - Amery, WI
- Tracy Gray, Vancouver Animal - Vancouver, BC
- Krystina Snyder, Orcas Animal Protection Society - San Juan Island, WA
"This year, we are thrilled to celebrate the overwhelming response to the Zoe Shelter Scholarship, with more than 100 passionate individuals applying," announced Gretchen Carey, Associate Director of KPA. "For more than a decade, this scholarship has empowered recipients to create enriching, compassionate kennel environments that alleviate the challenges of shelter life. By equipping these dedicated individuals with the knowledge and skills from our Shelter Training & Enrichment course, we not only improve the well-being of animals but also greatly increase their chances of adoption. We can't wait to see the positive impact this year’s scholarship winners will have on shelters throughout the world."
