Speak-Easy: Elevate Your Teaching with Communication Skills
You’ve mastered training techniques—but are you as confident teaching people?
Join Camilla and learn to love (or, at least rock!) the human side of animal training.
In this 5-unit, 7-week LIVE class, you’ll learn how to turn communication into your most effective training tool. Whether you freeze up in front of clients, hesitate when repeating the same concept again, or just wish your words came as smoothly as your click timing, this course will help you find your voice—and use it with confidence.
Through bite-sized, approachable exercises and real-time coaching, you’ll build strong communication habits that support effective teaching. You'll also explore the mechanics of voice production so you can speak with greater clarity, comfort, and confidence in any teaching situation.
Dog trainers teach people—it’s the not-so-secret truth of the profession. And while your training knowledge is solid, success depends on how well you share it. Without clear communication, clients may struggle to understand instructions, leading to confusion and frustration for both dogs and their humans.
This course is the expanded, personalized version of the popular “Dem-OH” from ClickerExpo Live. With individualized coaching, video review, and hands-on practice, you’ll learn how to make your teaching stick—and actually enjoy the process of speaking to people.

Here's What You'll Be Learning UNIT by UNIT
Learn With Camilla Chu
Camilla's lifelong passion for animals has shaped her journey as a dedicated advocate and educator. Professionally, she found herself a community of amazing positive reinforcement trainers when she took her puppy to class, and has since expanded it internationally.
Camilla continually prioritizes knowledge, recognizing the importance of ongoing learning in her field. In addition to her KPA-CTP certification, she is also TAGteach level one certified, a CCUI, and CTDI. She holds a B.Sc.H in Biology and a teacher’s ARCT in Speech Arts.
Aside from her animal training background, Camilla has been a teacher for over fifteen years, teaching human children, adults, and animal-human teams in communication and behavior. She’s been studying communication skills for over thirty years and works to apply the principles of learning and behavior she’s come to learn from KPA and TAGteach to public speaking.
When she’s not teaching or learning, she’s sneaking animal behavior principles into her fantasy novels about strong asian heroines who triumph and find love, all with their animal sidekicks.
