Dog Trainer Foundations or Dog Trainer Professional

The Dog Trainer Foundations course was created as a starting point for those who are considering a career in dog training, but need more education and experience with clicker training before applying to our Dog Trainer Professional program.

The Dog Trainer Professional program was created to improve the careers of trainers, elevate their positive training skills, teach  the application of positive reinforcement techniques with clients and provide the business skills needed to be successful as a dog trainer.  Students should come into the program with marker-based positive reinforcement skills.

 
 
Consider Dog Trainer Foundations if:
You are an experienced dog trainer, but are new to clicker training.

You are brand-new to dog training in general.

You have never trained an animal other than your own.
You aren’t fully clear on the concepts of capturing, targeting, shaping, and cueing.
You are not familiar with the science behind clicker training.
You are not sure how to read canine body language.
You have not attended another school, training conference, or classes.
Consider Dog Trainer Professional if:
You are an experienced dog trainer with clicker training knowledge and skills.
You are not necessarily a professional trainer, but are well versed in clicker training.
You have a solid understanding of capturing, targeting, shaping, and cueing.
You have a basic familiarity with the science behind clicker training.
You have experience training dogs or animals other than your own.
You have a solid understanding of canine body language.
You are a graduate of another dog training school.
