Complete the Dog Trainer Professional Preparatory course:
Pass all quizzes within three attempts or fewer with a score of at least 85%.
The course must be completed two weeks before the DTP enrollment deadline.
Submit Two Videos of You Training Your Dog:
KPA must receive your videos two weeks prior to the DTP enrollment deadline.
Video Requirements
Submit unedited training sessions where you demonstrate shaping to begin teaching a new behavior. We want to see the very start of the shaping process from the ground up. Ensure that both your entire body and your dog’s entire body are visible in the video clips.
Submit two clips, each one minute long.
Clicker mechanics (e.g., observation, clicker timing, and distinct treat delivery)
Demonstration of shaping approximations
Rate of reinforcement
Dog’s level of engagement and body language
Setup of the training area (antecedent arrangement)
How to Upload Shaping Videos to YouTube
Upload Your Videos to YouTube using the Google account associated with your Dog Trainer Professional Preparatory course
Sign in to: https://www.youtube.com.
Click the Upload button at the top of the page.
Choose a username for your channel.
Click Next.
Select appropriate privacy settings.
Click All done.
Click the Select files from your computer button in the middle of the page.
Locate your video on your computer and click Open.
Label your videos with your first and last name and the description: Dog Trainer Preparatory Shaping Submission.
Under privacy settings, choose Unlisted.
Click Save changes.
Once your videos are uploaded, click Video Manager at the top right.
Click on the videos you just uploaded.
Email Us the Link to Your Video
Copy the URL of each video from your browser and paste the links into the body of an email.
Include your first and last name and the description: Dog Trainer Professional Preparatory Video in the subject line.
