Our Dog Trainer Professional program is for the highly motivated trainer who has specific goals for improving knowledge, skills, and career prospects. The course includes personalized instruction and coaching from some of the best teachers in the field.
Terry Ryan founded Legacy Canine Behavior & Training in the early 1970’s with the goal of promoting humane and effective dog training techniques for a variety of pet, working dog and competitive applications. She built and operated a large training complex in the Pacific Northwest for many years. Terry was a competitor and is a former AKC Judge. She was the Program Coordinator for the dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, Washington State University, for thirteen years. Her work at the university focused on human-animal bond and animal assisted activity projects. Terry has served on numerous boards of a variety of pet-related organizations. Through Legacy, she instructs community dogs and their people, writes, and maintains a busy national and international workshop schedule. Most frequently she can be found teaching instructor’s courses, chicken training workshops and training games events. A Karen Pryor Academy faculty member since 2008, Terry teaches several KPA classes a year here and overseas. She is on the teaching staff of Clicker Expo.
