Summary

I hope to enrich the human and animal bond by teaching people a positive way to communicate with their animals. I enjoy helping animals achieve better lives through learning with positive reinforcement and compassion.

Bio

I started my animal training career at age 8 going door-to-door in my neighborhood and asking if I could train the household pets. Generally, I got a good reception and was allowed to work with many animals.

Even as a kid I was always looking for a way to communicate and train while maintaining a balance of enjoyment and compassion for the animal. Karen Pryor Academy (KPA) has given me the skills and knowledge to continue doing what I love and to share this education with people who want a better way to train their animals. I enjoy working with multiple dog households and rehabilitating mentally and/or physically abused animals. I currently own seven rescue dogs that love to engage in group training with great results!  They range in ages and sizes from a feral dog we rescued in rural China to a shepherd mix born right here on our little island.

Services offered

Companion dog training, shelter and rescue dog rehabilitation and training, reactive dog socialization, in-home consultation and training for single and multiple dog households, games and mental stimulation exercises to promote the human/animal bond.

I teach the KPA foundation behaviors as the first steps in my training program to ensure that all animals have a solid base from which to advance and succeed.
