Daniel De La Rosa has been showing and training dogs for more than 15 years. He trained at People Training For Dogs in Nyack, NY for the past three years before relocating to Hollywood, Florida in April 2008. Daniel moved with his dogs and clicker chickens, and now owns Petropolis Park.
Member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. Canine Good Citizen Evaluator.
- Bio
Daniel's first Akita, "Remi," earned his CD title in 1992. Daniel also earned AKC Champion titles with his next Akita, "Riki" and his Bichon Frise, "Chanel." He has shown dogs at the Westminster Kennel Club dog show at Madison Square Garden in NYC.
Current dogs include Akitas "Neko" and "Yeti," rescued shepherd mix "Bucca," and Belgian Malinois puppy in training, "GYPSY."
Neko earned his American/Canadian Champion titles exclusively owner-handled, and also won AKC Rally Novice, APDT Rally level 1, and CGC titles. Yeti earned her RN, RL1, and CGC titles.
Daniel and Bucca compete extensively in APDT Rally and CDSP Obedience. At 3 years old, Bucca's titles include APDT Rally Champion Extraordinaire, RL1X, RL2X2, RL3X2, CD-H, CGC. Bucca is the #2 APDT Rally mixed breed dog in the USA for 2007.
Daniel is very passionate about the care and training of his dogs, and has a genuine desire to share his knowledge and experience. When not training dogs, he enjoys singing opera and Spanish zarzuela. Before moving to Florida, Daniel was also a maître d' at Daniel Boulud's four-star New York City restaurant, Restaurant Daniel.
